Creativity is fundamental to wellbeing
The expressive arts and ritual experience are at the core of lineages of healing all over the world. Art therapy as we know it today is informed by this truth in addition to being shaped by the psychotherapeutic tradition.
Art therapy can be clinical, but it is non-diagnostic and non-prescriptive. While diagnosis can be a tool for accessing resources, my practice is person-centered and is focused on the roots of our emotional experiences.

Every sensation
is an invitation to notice the changes
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a somatic, body-based therapy grounded in non-verbal processing of procedural patterns. It is gentle and deeply kind in nature: the practitioner centers themselves in the clients’ present experience.
The practice is grounded in the principles of mindfulness, non-violence, relational alchemy, organicity, unity, and mind-body-spirit holism. It can be a supportive approach for anyone meeting life changes, limiting belief systems, acute traumas, chronic pain, and/or developmental challenges.

Benefits of Art Therapy
Self Expression: Art therapy allows you to express yourself in a non-verbal way, which can be especially helpful when words are unavailable, insufficient or overwhelming.
Personal Discovery: Making and reflecting on your art can aid in being present to emotions, and can offer perspective around the stories that have shaped you. Our own emotions are our greatest teachers.
Emotional Presence: The sensory experience of art-making can help soothe and bring clarity. Co-modulating with the therapist’s nervous system is also a supportive component of art therapy.
Relationship Healing: Art therapy can be a powerful tool for remedying our sense of connection with others and deepening our capacity for intimacy. Both individual sessions and group work have the potential to transform your outer-world relationships.
Processing Trauma: Art therapy can help with visiting and releasing trauma patterns. Sessions are always client-centered, meaning exploring traumas only happens when you are ready.
